Iowa Cup Series Criterium Race Saturday afternoon, July 11, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Back again this year and definitely adding some spice to Saturday’s already hot lineup is a criterium! A criterium, or crit, is a type of short and intense bike race, usually run on closed-off city streets. Success in criteriums requires a mix of good technical skills, especially the ability to corner rapidly and sharply and ride safely with a large group on a short circuit, as well as exceptional fitness to attack other riders and repeatedly accelerate hard from corners. The crit will run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. around the streets of Clear Lake . All skill levels and experience are welcome to participate. This USCF-sanctioned criterium will surely be thrilling, so plan on coming to watch even if you're not racing. The race is presented by the North Iowa Spin Race Team.
